In 1958 the Church of the Nazarene was invited to come to American Samoa by one of its chiefs who had come to the Lord in the Samoan Church of the Nazarene in Hawaii. By 1959, a group of about 45 people were holding services in the home of the chief. Today, there are 20 Nazarene churches in Samoan Islands – 19 in Samoa and 1 in American Samoa.
